Just a few vampires, sharing a flat in Wellington, New Zealand. The dynamics of a shared flat can always get a bit hairy, but possibly not as bloody as these guys.
Meet Vladislav (Jemaine Clement) with an interest in torture and perversion. Deacon (Jonathan Brugh) with a sexiness that is apparent to everyone, as it is to himself in the mirror. The ever well meaning and easily intimidated Viago ( Taika Waititi). Petyr (Ben Fransham) the oldest and quietest of the group and Nick (.Cori Gonzalez-Macuer) the youngest and newest member of the flat.
They have their issues, as flat mates often do... taking turns with the dishes, cleaning the flat, trying not to get blood on the couch. One thing they all agree on, however, is that Stu (Stuart Rutherford), Nick's best friend, and the only human of the group.... is a great guy.
What we do in the Shadows was Directed by, Written by and stars... Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. It's shown in a documentary style and narrated, in turn, by the vampires. Except Petyr, who just isn't a talker.
If your a fan of alternative comedy, or just comedy in general...and vampires...you should give this movie a look at.
