Wolf Girl

Hypertrichosis - (hi-per-tri-ko-sis) - A rare disorder in which there is significant overgrowth of hair...

Tara Talbot (last name ring a bell?) lives and entertains in the a travelling freak show.  She suffers from Hypertrichosis, and so her act is as the 'Wolf Girl'.  She is a timid and sweet girl and loved by her fellow freaks.  However, for some teenagers in the latest town they visit, she is a target for ridicule and torment.

Tara does make a friend, who's mother happens to be a cosmetic scientist, and she is soon tempted by an experimental drug to shed the fur from her body.  Being normal is something Tara has always dreamed of and this drug may her salvation, but what of the side effects... For an animal to be wild and vicious, does it need to be covered in hair?

Tara Talbot is played by Victoria Sanchez.  Victoria has been in many TV movies and series, including: 'The Hunger', and 'Satan's school for girls'.
Tim Curry, who needs no introduction, but I'll give him one anyway.  'Rocky Horror Picture Show', the clown from Stephen King's 'It', and Wadsworth the butler in the eighties comedy sleuth 'Clue', is the leader of the freak show, the father figure.  Grace Jones, singer and actress from movies such as 'Vamp', and 'A View to a Kill', plays 'Christoph/Christine' the man/woman.  Texas flower, Darlene Cates, who played Gilbert's mother in 'What's eating Gilbert Grape', plays 'Athena' the fat lady.  'Iceman' from 'Xmen', Shawn Ashmore, plays bad boy 'Beau'.

Wolf Girl brings science and myth together.  It was created as a TV movie in 2001, but like many other TV movies, seems to have faded into TV history.  Hopefully some of you will give it a watch, and I hope you enjoy it as I have.

Let me know what you think....
